Your suggestions are much appreciated. We are currently working hard to resolve some stability and performance issues but once we are done we will investigate all customer suggestions. This will be an exciting year!

You should be able to copy and paste branches from one map to another.
If not, could you please send an e-mail to support@nova-mind.com along with information on what version of NovaMind you use and what happens when you try to copy/paste a branch?

At the moment you can't do that.
You can however, use the attached image to have floating images.

At the moment exporting multiple maps at once is only supported in the PDF export.
Selecting multiple maps in the PDF export will export them into the same PDF file.

Could you please provide an option for us to choose a different colour for the forum  ? (Adopting team colours is
fine but please not yellow (I'm sick of Australia beating England every time) 

 

Gideon is currently working on a fantastic looking new website for NovaMind. We will update the appearance of the forum once the website is ready. (and it won't be yellow)

- Changed: instead of using the system preferences the text selection color is now light blue.
- Fixed: All Japanese fonts should now be handled gracefuly.
- Fixed: licensing doesn't require a restart of NovaMind anymore.
- Fixed: the branch-text-position options (above, center, below) where not working.
- Fixed: it was not possible to uncheck the 'Use Document Setting' checkbox on the map layout panel.
- Fixed: it was not possible to uncheck the 'Use Document Setting' checkbox in the outlineformat panel when no outline format was set in the document.
- Updated the manual.

I am glad you like NovaMind!

There is a bug in the current version of NovaMind that prevents this functionality from working correctly. This bug is already fixed and the next release, which should be available in the upcoming week, solves this problem.

In my opinion, one of the best forum software available.

We wanted to provide a feature rich and easy to use forum for our users while keeping the maintenance effort low so we can focus on creating the best mind mapping software

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for creating a forum for your users. I've been wanting one for a long time. It's great to see the interactions already, and Gideon's input.

Thank you! I am very excited about our new forum and I am looking forward to some interesting discussions and some fabulous mind maps.

Now, this little tiny nit. I went to modify my profile, and noticed that while "Local time" and "Language" are shown in the profile, there doesn't seem to be any way to edit them.

You can specify your time offset under Profile/Look and Layout Preferences (there is also a button that calculates the offset automatically)

The 'Language' field is currently unused.

Oh, looking at this editing pane, I have one more question. In the middle of the row of buttons above the smileys, there are three controls for inserting parts of tables. The third table button highlights a single cell, but the ALT tag says "Insert Table Column". If it is for a column, the button should show a whole column highlighted, but if it's to insert a cell, the tag should be changed.

Hi,

Having gone through the tutorials, I have a few questions:
1.  Where is the 'pin icon', alluded to in Tutorial 5, "Branch Notes", Point #5  ("you can
     click the little pin icon in the corner of the notes text window, and it will be pinned open")?
   
     I've attached a screen shot to this posting.

Thanks! That is a mistake in the tutorial. There is no pin icon in the Windows version as the branch notes window is always on top by default.

2.  Is there a preference to always show the 'tool palette'?  Is there a way to dock it up on the
     Toolbar?

No, there is no preferences to automatically show the tool palette and while you can't dock the tool palette you can stick it to a border... say the top right and it will move automatically with the editor window.

If you quickly want to show the tool palette you can use the keyboard shortcut F9.

We might improve this behavior in the future to automatically remember if the tool palette was visible and at what location it was.

3. I cannot get 'outline numbering' to work.  I've followed Tutorial 5 ("Outline Number") step
    by step and cannot get the outline numbering to work.  And I assume the 2nd screenshot
    of the 'outline numbering' options dialog box is wrong, in that it sets the 'outline numbers
    to level' back to 0, unlike the prior screen shot and not following the instructions.

You are right, the second screenshot is incorrect. I just followed the tutorial and it works fine for me. Could you explain what exactly doesn't work for you?

4. Is there a preference to store my name and company name, to be the default for all
    MindMaps (in the 'metadata' fields)?

However we would like to encourage you to use the English boards as more people will benefit from your questions and answers there.
