thanks Olaf..."I would generate one tab with an overview map, which give a short info on each meeting and a link to the detail tab."

I'm gonna see what this suggestion can do for me.  Thanks for the reply.

I'd be interested if you have any other thoughts, or anyone else...if I come up with another solution, I will also post.  I agree that this would be general interest.

thanks!!

General / advice needed
« on: March 15, 2012, 12:47:41 am »
I perform project management work and so host many many meetings. Currently I have a document with many tabs, one tab per meeting. NM does a great job of planning and running meetings etc.

But I am finding that having multi tabs cumbersome to scroll back and forth, especially when I have to reference a previous meeting etc, and the document is growing and growing.
I have tried separating into multi docs, but find that cumbersome and not what I need.

My question, how do you handle situations where you will have many tabs in one document?

Any advice would be great.

thanks

Nigel.

NovaMind 5 for Windows / SEARCH suggestions
« on: March 15, 2012, 12:14:22 am »
hi, one suggestion I have for NM Windows is a search feature.

For example, if you have a document that has multiple mind maps, it would be great to be able to search a keyword. Even this could be expanded to search the current mind map, or search the document...kinda like excel can search current worksheet or workbook.

Thanks

Nigel.

NovaMind 5 for Windows / rows of tabs (updated)
« on: March 05, 2012, 03:47:41 am »
Hi, using NM5 for windows.

I have a document that has a lot of tabs...is there a way to have rows of tabs, so I can see all the tabs on one screen, rather than scroll left/right to go through the tabs?

thanks

Nigel.

Along with the original question: Does anyone have any advice on how to handle a document that has MANY tabs...ie, keep them all in one document and scroll left/right, separate out into several docs...keeping in mind easy access to each tab and PERFORMANCE, which I find, the more I use NM5 the worse the performance, to the point I can not leave it open and use all day.

tks

NovaMind 5 for Windows / export to Powerpoint
« on: January 20, 2012, 05:18:24 am »
NM5 for windows.

how do I export to Powerpoint to achieve the following:

1) if I have several tabs in a single NM5 doc, ie several maps, how do I export just one (it only selects the first tab).

2) How do I export so each subtopic gets exported to a separate Powerpoint slide. (it just dumps all the topics without regard)

thanks

General / NM 5 suggestion
« on: January 20, 2012, 03:28:26 am »
hi, I am not sure where to post this, but I have a suggestion for a future enhancement.

We currently have the "children inherit shape settings from parent", which is great, but it would be even better if we could specify all children have a different shape from the parernt.

ie, subtopic could be OVAL shape and all children could be SQUARE.

Unless I am missing something, right now, each child has to be clicked on and changed.

Hope this makes sense.

Nigel.

thanks Olaf.

I am on Windows.  Option (2) does not work. It still only exports the first tab.

Option (1) of your suggestions works.

thanks

NovaMind 5 for Windows / exporting multiple maps in NM5
« on: January 18, 2012, 01:33:45 am »
hi,

if I have 4 maps in a single .NM5 file and I only want to EXPORT 1 of those maps to PDF, how do I do that?

NM5 only exports for the first map, ie the first tab and ignores the other 3, even if I have the 3rd map highlighted, export still only sees the 1st map, tab.

thanks

love it!!

It is great when a company not only hears what customers are asking for, but spends the resources to apply the changes to the products.

Thanks to all involved...as a newbie to NM, makes me really happy I chose NM5!!

Merry Christmas and happy New Year.
