Print links?

(1/2) > >>

Learning K:
Hi.  When I print a map, I would like to be able to have a version in which the actual URLs are visible.  MindJet allows this in their "text version" option, but I haven't figured out a way to do this with NovaMind.

A few maps (of mine, but others, too, like some from Jean-Pierre) are rich with links.  I can occasionally use the actual URL instead of the site link -- for example, telling someone (the old-fashioned way, with my voice) about a site I like rather than sending them to NovaMind Connect or sending a link.

Can I do this now?  If not, then I would like to suggest it.

Thanks,
Kathy

Hi Kathy

I'm not 100% sure what the request is - so you create hyperlinks on the branches, and you would like a way of printing the mind map in graphical form, but with the hyperlinks as text somewhere beside the branches?

If this is the request, then we would have to work out how to handle really long URLs, as well as multiple hyperlinks on a branch. Obviously we would want to avoid the hyperlinks obscuring other branches.

Thanks for the reply.

I don't need anything fancy, just a version -- all text is fine -- which allows the URLs to show as themselves.  I will try to send you a MindJet example of what I mean, but it looks like a Word document outline, and the URLs appear almost like branches.  Yes, the URLs are long, but they just take up their own space.  Leave the graphics and icons alone in a map version and let them do their magic, but consider an option for us to print a text version for those rare occasions when we are not emailing the actual maps or directing someone via a link.

Maybe I am just old fashioned and everyone just sends links these days.  Don't answer that!

Hi Kathy

I have recorded the request, thanks. I'm not sure when we would be able to address that need though - we have our hands pretty full with other development work right at the moment. If others have this need too, please just post a "me too" on here so we know how many people this is important to and can adjust our priorities accordingly.

Thanks

Gideon

I, also, have wanted something like this for years.

For me, it would be sufficient to be able to see the link text when I copy and paste into a text editor application, or on Export to RTF. Beyond that, the ability to see and edit it in Outline view would be great. Printing the full URL on a mind map might be nice occasionally but I don't think I would use it a lot, and I can see that it would pose some layout challenges.

Thanks!
Karen
