(1/2) > >>

albruno:
Dear,

I'm trying trial novamind 5, and would like to write "mathematical" page for my joung son.
But I don't find a way to write exponent ex : (a+b)exp2 -> (a+b)2 in exponent style (little 2 above)
I try to search in the forum with "exponent" but don't find anything.

How can I do this?

Thank you and sorry for my english, it is not my native language!

I have the Mac version and it is located in the Font Selection of the Format Menu under Baseline.  You get several choices and the one you want is "superscript"

You have to highlight the text or number first and then you can move it up or down.

Try to locate these words in your Help Index.

Thank you for such a quick answer!

I've a PC version in french and I change it in english.
I suppose there is not too many differences between both (Mac-Pc).

I check in the name font "superscript", and didn't find it
After I downloaded font "superscript" from the web and installed it.

The "superscript" font appeared when I call  novamind back.
So  when I write exponent number I change just before in font "superscript" but it seems nothing change except the form style of the font, even if I reduce the size.

In the text zone under the name of font the only choices I find is bold, slant, underscore, strike, colors and hyperlink, nothing else like in word 2003 where I can a letter or number put in exponent or indice.

Did I missed something or badly understood?

Thank you for your patience!

Because I don't have Windows, I don't want to give you the wrong info.  Last time I answered a Windows question with a Mac answer, I learned how different the programs are.

This much I will say, in case it works.  We have a tool bar across the top of the screen when we are working with a program.  The superscript is in the Format Menu of the main toolbar, not the Font section of the NovaMind map-specific toolbar.  It is on a list with kerning, ligature, baseline -- under baseline.

I hope someone on NM staff or someone with Windows can help further.

Thank you again to be so prompt to answer!

I think I must be a little stupid or blind ;) because I check on the main toolbar (top window) in the item format where I find the next items Layout, subtopics, shape,  numbering, checkbox, arrange and try to find in those items section a list  with the kerning, ligature, baseline but didn't find anything such like that.

I try to to find in the help section on the web words baseline, ligature and just find kerning.

I think indeed there must be a difference between Mac and Pc version.

Maybe could you send me to my email adress (or me to you if possible) a screen copy of your (my) Novamind to be sure there is no misunderstanding from me, and so that there is is a different ergonomy for Pc and Mac?

Anyway thank you for the time you took to answer me.
