Task Information |
|
|
There are various types of task related information you can add to branches. The task palette looks like this:
As it is a large palette, most people like to drag it off the palette dock when they are using it, and minimize it when they don't need it.
Priority
You can set the priority to a number between 0 and 9. If the priority is 0, then this is taken to mean that there is no priority information for that branch.
The priority markers are shown on the branches, unless you turn that option off in the map view options.
Percentage Complete
You can set the percentage complete anywhere from -1 to 100. If -1, this is taken to mean that you are not tracking percentage complete for this branch. If 0%, the full percentage complete pie chart is drawn red, indicating that the task is being tracked but is not started yet. If 100%, the task is complete, and is drawn entirely in green. Percentages in between are drawn according to the indicated percentage.
If you don't want the pie chart drawn on the branches, you can turn this option off in the map view settings.
Duration
You can set the duration of a task in whatever unit you choose. If you set a start and finish date for the task, the calc button is enabled, and when you click the calc button it works out the time difference between the specified start and finish time, in the units you specify, and enters this in the duration field.
Start date
If you want to specify a start date, you need to check the Start checkbox.
To set the start to right now, press the Now button.
If you have a finish date and a duration set, you can click the Calc button to calculate the start time.
Today's date is marked in blue.
The arrows at the top of the calendar take you forward or back a month at a time. The diamond returns you to the month of your currently selected date.
You can alter the time by dragging the clock hands to where you want them, and clicking on the AM/PM indicator to set whether it is morning or afternoon.
Finish date
The finish date is exactly the same as the start date, with the exception that the calc button adds the specified duration to the start date to set the finish date. |
