Screenwriting

Within the script window is a command bar at the bottom designed to show you relevant information about your script, and give you control over the various aspects of the screeplay.

 

The items on the bar are as follows:

Select the previous branch with screenwriting text attached to it, gray out the script attached to the other branches, and put the cursor at the start of the text for that branch. Command key equivalent for this is Command+Control+Up arrow

 

You can also hold down the Option key and go to the previous branch, even if it had no script attached. Command key equivalent for this is Command+Option+up arrow

Select the next branch with screenwriting text attached to it, gray out the script attached to the other branches, and put the cursor at the start of the text for that branch. Command key equivalent for this is Command+Control+Down arrow.

 

You can also hold down the Option key and go to the next branch, even if there is no script attached. Command key equivalent for this is Command+Option+Down arrow.

Print checkbox

Include the script for the selected branch in the screenplay output (printing and exporting).

Page x of y pages

Shows the current page number and number of pages. You can click this and open a dialog which allows you to jump directly to the desired page.

Scene #

Shows the current scene number. You can click this and open a dialog which allows you to jump directly to the desired scene.

Current section

Both shows the section you are in now, and is a popup menu that allows you to select a different section. If you change the section, then the formatting for that section is applied to the selected text.

Changes the capitalization of the selected text, cycling through lower case, sentence case, camel case and upper case.

Tab action from the selected section to the next section (as defined in the preferences)

Return action from the selected section to the next section (as defined in the preferences)

Zoom popup

Allows you to select the amount to zoom the screenwriter text, to enhance readability.
