When we stand near electric motors or power lines, or use certain devices, we are being exposed to electric fields. The fields may not penetrate very deeply but they have an effect. When we are exposed to magnetic fields, electric currents may be induced deeply inside of our bodies. It is difficult to study due to the electrical complexity of living tissue.
What happens to us when exposed to exogenous electric fields? This map offers concepts and links that discuss this bioeffect.

The effects of non-ionizing electromagnetic fields on the brain and its surrounding tissues are profound. Cells and organelles are sensitive to the effects of free radical damage, bio-accumulation of toxins crossing the blood brain barrier, resonance effects on fluids and magnetite, and more. In addition to structural changes, EMF alters the delicate signaling mechanisms upon which neuronal activity and cellular communication depend. The map on EMF and Sleep was added to this Index 01/08/12.
This map serves as an index to other maps located at www.oscillatorium.com on the subject of EMF effects on the brain. Some maps are dedicated to brain structure and function and some maps discuss physiologic effects of EMF on tissues that are in the brain and elsewhere. Auditory system map added to index 03/13/12.

Many "environmentalists" are embracing wireless technologies because they look so simple to operate and they send and receive information invisibly. But they are not green: they have a huge carbon footprint and they are expensive in many ways. Worst of all, research is showing that the environment (plants, other animals, humans) is being adversely affected by these technologies.
Eli Pariser's important book teaches us when and how the Internet began to enclose each of us in a personal, filtered bubble of information. We are profiled by our data signals and clickstreams so that websites can quickly morph to suit our moods, and ads for products we might like can follow us from page to page. Personalization would make life easier if its invisibility didn't rob us of our cyber-independence. This map introduces some of Pariser's research findings and offers links to his book, his talks, and a few suggestions for consciously structuring our own Internet experiences.
This is now a NM5 map. The image is posted here, and the title links to the website where the hyperlinked PDF is available.
Radioactive materials have now been detected over the entire northern hemisphere, and the contamination continues to leak from Fukushima into the environment. There are a number of books, articles, and websites which offer suggestions about supporting the body when there is a concern about radiation exposure. There is no intention to diagnose or prescribe for anyone, but rather offer links for personal research. Because some of the linked books are out of print, they are excerpted here.

A number of maps have been posted relating to the effects of EMF on the brain. This map covers the topics of the autonomic nervous system, multiple sclerosis, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

This map offers links to basic EMF physics and mechanics instead of physiology. There are learning sites, glossaries, overviews and other tools for getting a grasp of the differences between electric, magnetic and electromagnetic fields. Some sites pertain to wired EMF sources and others are to wireless.
These two overview maps are related. The first replaces an earlier map on glycation and adds some results from newer research. The second map provides an overview of natural support to postpone and minimize neuropathy. Some links are the same so the maps may be studied separately.
Diabetes is serious and requires professional and personal management. But a number of nutrients and therapies have been shown in research literature to be helpful to some people. No specific recommendations are intended.
Two maps have been converted to three NM5 maps. They are posted here as images, but linked to fully hyperlinked PDF versions.
These maps offer links to a number of video and audio resources available on the Internet. Most are free of charge, but otherwise a charge has been noted if known. While there may be many resources not included here, I tried to have introductions to a number of experts in the field as well as provide links to collections and archives.

The best action we can take to reduce our exposure to sources of EMF is to learn about them and choose to avoid them, distance ourselves from them, select low-EMF products, etc. But many sources are outside of our control.
This map offers basic information and links to companies offering different types of shielding materials for personal use. While information dense, it may omit by accident some valuable resources. As such, it is intended to be an overview document and not a full listing. Icons next to products refer to linked companies listed on a branch on the right of the map.

How does EMF affect physiologic tissue? Many mechanisms have been proposed and studied. There are just too many variables of interaction between complex modulations of a wide spectrum of artificially produced electromagnetic fields and the spontaneous and rhythmic functions of living cells.
This map indexes other maps at www.oscillatorium.com which discuss either cell tissues or functions or both in relationship to non-ionizing electromagnetic field exposures. Two maps were added to this index on 01/08/12: DNA as a Fractal Antenna, and Methylation and Glutathione.

There are a number of maps at www.oscillatorium.com on subjects which relate to possible factors in bee decline or colony collapse disorder. This map serves as an index to the "bee maps", with hyperlinks taking you to the active maps for further personal study.

Autism is an increasingly common developmental disorder now affecting one child in 100, or perhaps more. The rising frequency suggests that environmental triggers play a large role. Strongly suspected are vaccinations, mercury, gluten, various neurotoxins and electromagnetic fields. This map links the few studies published and a number of clinical discussions and articles on the subject of autism and EMF. The most informative links are highlighted.

Our bodies are approximately 2/3 water. This water forms a resonant matrix for physiologic functions. It is affected in some interesting ways by both natural and artificial electromagnetic fields. This map introduces concepts proposed by researchers studying the topic, and provides links to studies, analyses, and presentations.
This map was originally created for personal use, and it was recently revised. It is not intended to diagnose or prescribe for anyone else. It provides an overview of some adjunctive therapies for practitioner-guided care of soft tissue injuries. Related maps are linked.

Wireless SmartMeters are being installed by utilities in a number of countries without the consent of residents and home owners. There are a variety of potential health, environmental, privacy and financial concerns which are not being addressed by policymakers. More and more communities are objecting to placement of SmartMeters.
This map introduces the issues with links to articles, videos, research and other documentation. Special thanks to Sage Associates for their important report. Links corrected 12/08/11.

Technologies which produce EMF pervade our world. While this map is dense as a linked introduction to the topic, it fails to adequately demonstrate how little escape there is from the invisible radiation and fields produced by powered and wireless devices and the infrastructures which support them.

We are daily exposed to sources of non-ionizing electromagnetic fields (EMF). We can control some exposures, but not others. This map summarizes simple and helpful suggestions made by groups and experts in the field of EMF remediation to reduce our daily (and lifetime) exposures. Because these fields penetrate our environment, helping ourselves will also help all living organisms with whom we share the planet.

Research demonstrates the development of adverse biological effects resulting from exposures to non-ionizing electromagnetic fields. The best way to minimize effects is to reduce exposures. However, because the body tries to respond to stress and heal itself, research also suggests that some nutrients may help us in these basic functions.
This map is an overview of mechanisms which may be influenced by dietary factors and offers links to studies and related maps. No specific recommendations for anyone are intended by this information.

Around the world bees are disappearing. The best plausible explanation for this rapid, widespread phenomenon is the massive increase in global non-ionizing electromagnetic exposures -- especially in combination with other proposed factors. This maps links observations, studies, articles and organizations around this central serious theme.
The concept of Streetcombing is brilliant. But, more than that, I love the way you created a visually attractive map to introduce your material to us. Thank you.
This is very helpful as a learning tool. Do you happen to know the license status for the various pages? Thanks for organizing the material so nicely. It translates well, by the way (via Google).
I love the way maps help us learn difficult concepts "at a glance" --especially because branches allow the author to deliver a number of angles of vision to a single topic. Thank you for this. I am not a lawyer, but this topic fascinates me and your presentation helps me to grasp it a little better.
