Description: This map has been updated and converted to NM5. It is posted here as an image only, but is linked to a fully hyperlinked PDF. 07/23/12.

It offers links to a number of groups -- policy-oriented, educational, and support -- working in the area of non-ionizing electromagnetic fields.

Document: EMF: Cellular Effects Arrow_right_green

Description: This is a set of two maps. They have both been updated and converted to NM5. They are posted here as images only, but are linked to fully hyperlinked PDFs. 07/24/12.

Non-ionizing electromagnetic fields permeate our environment. The effects of these fields on our biological systems has been explored on other maps. In these maps, I am trying to provide an overview of the possible effects at tissue, cellular and intracellular levels. Two themes seem to stand out in the research: free radical damage of several kinds, and movement of molecules and organelles in electric, magnetic, static and combination fields.

Description: This map has been updated and converted to NM5. It is posted here as an image only, but is linked to a fully hyperlinked PDF. 07/24/12.

Body Voltage is defined by building biologists as the AC voltage induced on a person's body by electric fields in the environment. It has not been researched as much as other aspects of EMF, but in general it is felt that the lower our BV, especially during sleep, the better. This map is intended to be introductory only, and not to suggest expertise or endorse products. Links are offered for personal study.

Description: This map has been updated and converted to NM5. It is posted as an image here but is linked to a fully hyperlinked PDF.

Our physiologic functions are complex. We are exposed, in addition, to complex and multiple artificially-produced electromagnetic fields. Scientific research and policy-making has not taken much of this complexity into account, possibly because it is not well-understood. This map offers some notes and links to discussions and research on the subject of nonlinearity in the responses of living organisms to EMF.

Electromagnetic fields -- particularly low frequencies and high frequencies modulated at low frequencies -- affect calcium physiology in living tissue in important ways. This map offers overviews of these effects with links to presentations, articles and a selection of informative studies.
