Description:
Cryptochrome is a light sensing pigment found in plants and animals. It is used by animals to sense the magnetic field of the earth and by both plants and animals to regulate circadian rhythms and participate in other cellular functions. Electromagnetic fields have been shown to interfere with cryptochrome functions. This information has been brought to our attention by Dr. Andrew Goldsworthy, so many links are provided to articles and presentations by him. Studies and other explanatory material are also offered. This NM5 map is posted here as an image but is linked in the NM4 title box to the website page with the most current fully hyperlinked PDF version. |
