Crowey Strategy

Radical Jesus Thoughts>

Mind Map branch: Crowey Strategy Crowey Strategy Engage We believe in partisan politics. Partisan politics engages the community, gets their skins on the table. One of the biggest no-players on the scene is the Christian left, which has been dominated by organizing strategies and tactics that have failed us for 3 decades Churches themselves have failed to adapt to the changing demographics that fractured communities asunder, with the moral authority of the most extreme Papal and protestant christian sects focused together on social issues specifically and alchemically wrought to remove them from play in representing the rights of all citizens to benefit from the commonwealth. (here we can get some of Plowers words) What we propose is a web-based church called RadicalJesus.org that brings together a true Christian Left, mobilizing them whether or not they belong to church, and returning some of them into Radical Jesus oriented churches. Backstory Clinker - former labor organizer, reluctantly called back into the ministry, and working on some radical transformation of church and community. Crowley - progressive blog entrepreneur, labor organizer, JWJ boardmember, who brings his tough Irish Catholic Teamster upbringing into the progressive christian fray Jones - son of a radical Episcopal priest, driven by baptismal vows, working to move the grassroots organizing community into Web 2.0. Build tension We have the technology to make the project happen. Jones' company can produce and host the technology in a duplicable Joomla-based framework. We have a compelling narrator with potential of generating a national following and approach to organizing around faith-based values. While Wallis is moving towards a following with his work on BeliefNet, Jones has followed online faith based marketing for years, having produced the marginally successful FaithfulDemocrats.com and Demockeracy.com and research by Dave Karpff. Faith based organizing needs to remain regionalized, but with a more sophisticated and engaging front. That front needs to have a compelling narrator and narrative, but allow loose, episodic involvement online, much like MoveOn.org rotates issues that engage different people. While the money would be valuable in helping equip the church with some better video, sound and editing capacity. Bring it to the boil What we really seek is your endorsement. We think there is a real opportunity in these times to bring the tribes together. While there are many leftists out there wounded by religious authority, it is their morality, their faith in a better world, that is more powerful a testament to the abiding power of the almighty than any guy in a pointy hat spouting genocidal remarks about condom usage. Doing it on the web is the fastest way to expand the continuum of involvement, and recognition as a KOS participant would pay for itself in earned media beyond any of the cash award, which is the true ghost that folks don't want to talk about - exposure has once again gotten very personal, through trusted, credentialed guides, and often, within local blogger communities, through people you know.
