Branch Note:
individual is asked to recall information (e.g. name/procedure/instruction/location) over increasingly long periods of time.
BRUSH AND CAMP 1998a/b is the main study, however a more recent and powerful study (randomised placebo-controlled study of 37 AD patients) is Davis, Massman and Doody 2001.
Their results were very positive: the AD patients in the treatment group improved in their recallof personal information over the five-week intervention, whilst the performance of the patients in the placebo group remained constant.
The technique will's little co-operative effort and can be embedded in other activities, as well as used by both professionals and personal caregivers.
Clinicians:
- controlled type of target response
- duration of intervals between retention probes
- number of learning trials
