The electricity that arrives at our home may be in the form of a "clean" (undistorted) sine wave, or not. Between the substation and our home, and inside our home, it can pick up extra frequencies, harmonics, surges, and more. While this "dirty electricity" is not researched as thoroughly as "clean" power, there is a growing body of evidence that it may cause serious health effects in some people. This map does not attempt to discuss wiring errors, which need to be assessed by licensed electricians.
