The second is on Alzheimer's disease (AD) and the increased risk of it where exposures to non-ionizing electromagnetic fields are high. While AD is not just a memory problem but a pathologic process, they are often hard to distinguish in the early stages. "Smart appliances" are major household appliances with built-in wireless transmitters designed to perform a number of functions. They will apparently report to you via your computer or smart phone how much electricity you are using and what the charges are, shifting energy consumption to off-peak times. Some have voice recognition software. Some remind you of maintenance schedules. Some help technicians remotely diagnose problems. Some warn you to conserve energy. There are other features and functions as well. This map links many of major companies offering "smart" appliances, and presents an overview of the topic. Health and environmental issues are not discussed in depth in this map.

Methylation, Glutathione and EMF

All living beings evolved without needing physiologic strategies for coping with heavy burdens of exogenous toxins. We have limited capacities to produce and recycle glutathione, the most important antioxidant, in our cells. We push our detoxification systems, including methylation -- which assists in the production of glutathione -- to their limits with our chemical exposures. To this, we add EMF. While we work to minimize our exposures to EMF sources, we can try to assist the detoxification and antioxidant functions within us. This map offers studies and links on the rationale for supporting our antioxidant defenses.
