Why You need Mind Mapping

Mind Mapping is a powerful but simple way of using diagrams to show information in the same way you think. Mind Mapping makes it easy to understand, remember, and communicate complex information.

Sometimes our brains feel as if they are scrambled because of information overload, overwhelm, or ineffective use of your brain. This leads to:

  • inability to solve problems effectively,
  • lack of creative thought,
  • lack of focus,
  • difficulty giving great presentations,
  • problems organizing your thoughts,
  • poor communication,
  • missing out tasks when planning projects,
  • forgetting important information.

Have you ever had any of these problems?

This is why you need to use Mind Mapping. You can use it to organize your thoughts, solve problems, brainstorm new ideas, and give compelling presentations.

NovaMind is software that makes Mind Mapping simple and powerful. You can use NovaMind as an aid in study, organization, problem solving, presentations and decision making. You will see the important issues, organize your thoughts, and solve problems quickly and effortlessly.

What is Mind Mapping?

Mind Mapping is a way of creating pictures that show ideas in the same way that they are represented in your brain.

Your brain uses words, pictures, numbers, logic, rhythm, color and spacial awareness to build up unique pictures of information. The ideas are linked together in a way that makes it easy to understand and remember.

Mind Maps use exactly the same types of things to show the ideas and link them together. This is what makes Mind Mapping so powerful.

You start with a central topic that you are going to be examining, and add topics radiating from the center, and then sub-topics as required to represent your ideas.

You create your Mind Maps in a natural way by using your own words and connections that make sense to you. It is best to stick to one or two keywords on the topics and use the topics to show the connections between the ideas.

What if I’m not an artist?

To create great looking Mind Maps on paper, you really had to be a good artist – the more skill you had in that area the better.

Of course, this is something you could learn, but takes time and practice.

Using NovaMind, you don’t need any artistic skill at all. The program automatically creates colorful Mind Maps with smooth flowing curves for the topics. You can drag and drop images from the graphics libraries, or use your own images to make it look even more interesting.

What if I can’t break down my idea into a single keyword?

This is a common issue when people are not used to Mind Mapping.

After having worked with Mind Mapping for many years, we have come to the conclusion that there are some times where you do want to have phrases and sentences on topics rather than just words. This is the exception rather than the rule though.

Try putting just one or two words on each topic and see how you go. It will force you to think carefully about the main ideas. In some cases, a paragraph may convert into one main keyword and several sub-topics with a keyword on each.

This really does open up thinking about the core meaning of the topic and the association of the refinements and explanations to the main topic.

Many people find the transition to this way of thinking difficult at first, but now they say they will never go back.

In Mind Mapping, there is no "right" or "wrong" way to organize your Mind Map, so don’t be scared to try things out and find what works best for you.

How much does it cost? How do I justify the expense?

There are three editions of NovaMind, with prices and capabilities to match your needs.

For schools, primary school pupils and beginning Mind Mappers, we have NovaMind 5 Express for USD 29.99.

For advanced Mind Mappers, senior school and university students, coaches, and for general business use, you can buy NovaMind 5 Pro for USD 79.99.

For power Mind Mappers, or if you need to make compelling presentations, are a project planner, or business consultant you need NovaMind Platinum. For serious business people, and the people who need the absolute best, you should get NovaMind 5 Platinum for USD 149.99.

How do I justify the expense?

For businesses and employees, this is very easy.

Here is an independent paper that shows how Mind Mapping increases your productivity by at least 20% on average.

Just show this to your boss and (s)he will see the value of using Mind Mapping. Of course there are many other benefits, and we have case studies and examples throughout the web site, showing how people used Mind Mapping to help with their businesses.

For other uses, where the improved clarity and effectiveness is not measured in dollar terms, you will be able to organize and understand information more easily, recall it more easily, come up with new solutions, and present them to others powerfully and clearly.

This dramatically increases your productivity and effectiveness, and leverages your time to maximum advantage.

I have your software and have thoroughly enjoyed working with it. I am moving all of my files over to a new computer and wondering if there is a way to transfer the program. PC based with Windows 8.

Our non-profit had purchased two programs. My friend has since passed away but I am continuing with Indian Progress as well as President of NAMI Washington Coast and Grays Harbor CASA. We are working with foster children in the justice system as well as mental health. Half of the children in foster care have some form of mental illness.
Thank you

Your software has been very helpful in setting up the new CASA board and taking over as President for NAMI.

It sounds as if you have a support related query. Please either use the support options on this web site, or send an email to support@novamind.com. Make sure you tell them the exact version of NovaMind you are using, if you are using the desktop application.
